This series of work comprises solely of self portraits; portraits I have posed in, taken, processed and printed. Portraits created in my solitude.

Early in my photographic studies I was inspired by the work of Cindy Sherman and certainly the influence of narrative and use of "self" is directly evident in this body of work. I embraced the concept of self portraiture in the Shermanesque sense, that is to say using yourself in the photographs but not being yourself in the image, in fact one is playing the part of someone else altogether. The result of these images (and much of my other work) is both a reflection of something introspective and retrospective. Through these images I am able to channel the inspiration I feel from these locations, objects and garments. I am able to realise my daydreams, my imagination of life in another era.
