Industrial Liaisons

A portion of an ongoing series exploring the beauty of shapes, colour and patterns found in the industrial landscape.

The industrial landscape, is made for function not aesthetics, yet for me it offers so much in patterns, shapes, tones, and geometry. The colours in these images are also important for me, making use of late afternoon to evening light where both blues and oranges can be seen in the sky simultaneously. Using 35mm film through the Holga, I am able to expose over the sprocket holes of the film, which I have chosen to include in some of the images where they have a relationship with the landscape. In numerous images I have also made use of multiple exposures allowing me to impose one image over another creating relationships between these images; opposing yet complimentary counterparts within the frame.
